Partial substitution of the ureter using a double short segments of the ileum following the monti procedure
The partial substitution of the ureter using a pediculated double short segments of the ileum is a technique used to re-establish ureteral transit and preserve the renal unit, following the resection of extensive ureteral lesions. Standard surgical procedure for an ileoureteroplasty consists of isolating an ileal duct of equal or greater length than the ureteral defect and interposing it in the urinary tract in an isoperistaltic direction.Monti described a surgical technique that allows for the creation of catheterizable stomas in continent urinary diversions, using the Mitrofanoff principle. These passageways were created from one or several 2.5 cm long ileal sections by means of their detubulization and transverse retubulization.

Performance evaluation of cooperative societies on women entrepreneurs in Nigeria
Evidence from literature suggests that despite the fact that women are key players in entrepreneurial activities and make significant contributions in the economic development of many nations around the world, non-availability of long-term finance and long procedures to access financial help have been identified as major constraints faced by women entrepreneurs. Cooperatives societies has been identified as veritable instruments which provide business finance for the growth and development of women enterprises .Therefore this study evaluated the impact of cooperative societies on the performance of women entrepreneurs in Lagos State, Nigeria. Data were sought through structured questionnaires and analysed using tables, frequencies, percentages, charts while chi square was used to test the study hypothesis. The findings of the study revealed that though cooperatives are accessible to majority of the women entrepreneurs, the amount of loans obtainable from cooperatives were inadequate for the entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the chi square analysis showed that the ?2_ calculated value of 61.26 is greater than the ?2_ critical value of 13.28 at 0.01level of significance, implying that cooperative societies have significant effect on entrepreneurs. Therefore it is recommended that the federal government should consider developing policies that will create an enabling environment for the development and proper operation of cooperative thrift and credit societies and other group initiatives and the management of cooperative societies should be helped to have a new business orientation and also encouraged to attend and benefit from seminars, adult education and literacy programs.

Performance evaluation of noise reduction filters on electron beam images
Digital image processing is now increasingly being used in electron accelerators to characterize electron beam. Measurement of electron beam parameters like beam size, beam centroid with high accuracy is required to optimize accelerator performance. Measurement accuracy of these parameters using digital image processing is limited by the noise present in the images. Reduction of noise without altering the features present in the image is a desired goal of image processing. In this paper we evaluate the noise reduction capability of median, mean, gaussian and wiener filters from digital images of electron beam image. The images were collected from Transport Line-1 in Indus Accelerator Complex at Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), Indore, India. We also evaluate the effect of these filters on the measurement accuracy of beam parameters like beam size and beam centroid. It has been observed that performance of median filter for noise reduction is better than mean, gaussian and wiener filter. Median filter also creates less distortion in beam size and centroid of the beam in comparison with other filters.

Performance of steel fiber reinforced self compacting concrete
The present work deals with the results of experimental investigations on steel fiber reinforced self compacting concrete. Effects of these fibers on various strengths of concrete were studied with varied fiber content from 0.5 to 3% at a specific interval with weight of cement. Strengths considered for investigation were compressive strength, flexural strength, split tensile and bond strength and tests on fresh concrete were also conducted. Ductility of concrete is found to increase in the fiber reinforced self compacting concrete as observed from the load deflection study. The Poisson’s ratio is found to vary within the specified limits with static modulus of concrete relation between flexural shear strength and all other strengths are developed. A comparison result of steel fiber reinforced self compacting concrete and that of normal self compacting concrete shows the significant improvement in the results of various strengths.

Phytochemical and Antibacterial Activity of Mentha Arvensis L
The Phytochemical studies were carried out on the aqueous, chloroform and ethanol extract of the powdered specimen using standard procedures. In this investigation terpenoids, steroids, tannins, saponin, and cardiac glycosides showed positive results in the extracts whereas flavonoids and phlobatannins showed negative results in the aqueous extract. Soxhlet apparatus were used for extracting the antibacterial active compounds from the powered leaves of Mentha arvensis. The discs were prepared and immersed in various solvents. Obtained pathogenic bacteria pure cultures were inoculated nutrient broth respectively. The antibacterial activities against the Bacillus subtilis, Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia marcescens and Staphylococcus pyogenes. Ethanol extract was found to be most effective followed by other water and chloroform extracts. Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumonia were more sensitive for ethanol extract. Aqueous extracts showed low inhibition against the tested organisms when compared to other test plant extracts. The present study provides an important basis for the use of chloroform and ethanol extracts from the leaves of Mentha arvensis L. for the treatment of skin diseases. The crude extract as well as the isolated compounds found to be active in this study which would be useful for the development of new antibacterial drugs.

Pre and post mergers: performance of selected pharmaceutcal companies in India
To improve operational efficiency and to facilitate the emergence of globally competitive companies, there is a need of mergers and acquisitions. The increased participation of the Indian companies in the global corporate sector has further facilitated the merger and acquisition activities in India. Even though mergers and acquisitions (M&A) have been an important element of corporate strategy all over the globe for several decades, research on M& As has not been able to provide conclusive evidence on whether they enhance efficiency or destroy wealth. So this paper tries to analyse the effect of mergers and acquisition on the net profits of the company. It also tries to analyse the performance of the selected merged banks in terms of changes in growth of net sales, cost of production, market capitalisation, revenue earnings and revenue expenses in foreign exchange and Earning per share and also to know the most significant variable affecting the net profits in pharmaceutical company with respect to net sales, cost of production, market capitalisation, revenue earnings and revenue expenses in foreign exchange and Earning per share. The data has been colleted through Capitaline software. Further the result shows that different factors are responsible in different companies that are affecting the profitability of the companies.

Reliability analysis of the Revised Adult Attachment Scale (RAAS) instrument in the Malaysian context
The objective of this article is to discuss the reliability analysis of the Revised Adult Attachment Scale (RAAS) instrument in the Malaysian context. This instrument was developed by Collins (1996) and has been used in western countries to measure the adult attachment style dimension. Items for RAAS were translated to the Malay language to suit the Malaysian adults’ sample. The sample of this study comprised of Malay married couples. A preliminary test and real test were conducted to determine whether its coefficient reliability value achieved the standard. The results of preliminary test and real test showed that the value of coefficient reliability for each dimension in RAAS have fulfilled the standard (p>.70). Based on these findings, the RAAS is a reliable instrument to be used among Malaysian adults. Furthermore, this instrument can be used by marriage counselors to understand how does attachment between husbands and wives may be related to thecouples’ problem or it may serve as a resource for couples to build a greatrelationship.
