Evaluation of the EFL Textbook “Four Corners” from the Perspectives of Students
The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of an intermediate textbook titled “Four Corners” from the perspective of students. The evaluation of the textbook was conducted on the basis of ten criteria, the selection and organization of content in the textbook, level of the learners, the physical appearance, the content, the exercises and activities, the vocabulary and grammar, the clarity of instructions, the supporting sources, the development of learner autonomy, and the consideration of learning style differences . This study was conducted at four language institutes in Tonekabon, Mazandaran Province, Iran. Both quantitative and qualitative data were obtained through a questionnaire administered to 180 students and interviews with them. Frequencies and percentages were calculated for each item to describe the overall picture of how the students rated the textbook in terms of ten criteria. Also chi square for each criterion was calculated. Data collected through interviews were transcribed, content analyzed and grouped according to 10 criteria used in this study for the evaluation of the particular textbook. The results revealed that students felt positive about the most of the characteristics of the textbook. They found the textbook effective in terms of coverage of four language skills. However, it was found that the reading passages needed to be simplified in terms of both vocabulary load and structures. Majority of the students mentioned that the level of the textbook was not appropriate for their level. It also indicated that the materials failed to consider learning style preferences of the learner. On the other hand, one of the strengths of the textbook was the artwork’s being up-to date and helpful for the students to understand the lesson. Besides, it was mentioned that the activities and exercises in the textbook appeal to their interest. Furthermore, all the students indicated that the textbook could provide them with the opportunities to be aware of their weaknesses and strengths.

Prime number generation using genetic algorithm
In the modern cryptography, the problem of the generation of large primes is considered as an important issue to implement public key crypto-scheme such as RSA and so on. Since a great amount of computational resources is generally required to generate a large prime number, it takes considerable amount of resource especially in embedded systems. In general, the prime number generation is started from the random number generation. If the generated random number is passed a specified probabilistic primality test, the random number is tentatively considered as a prime number and applied to a public key crypto-system. In many primality tests, a number of modular exponentiations are usually required. Hence these algorithms are considerably slow. Here we are introducing a new prime generation technique using GA which can be used to generate large primes in more efficient way.

A Survey on space time block coding in wireless communication
The combo of coding with spatial assorted qualities opens up new measurements in wireless interchanges, and can offer successful answers for the difficulties confronted in acknowledging solid rapid connections. Use of Space-Time Block Coding (STBC) with Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) set-up proves to be an efficient method for this task. In wireless environment there is no prior knowledge of the channel state information (CSI) and hence it is required to employ some estimation techniques to obtain an estimate of the channel. Channel estimation is thus an important step in receiver design. Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) is a promising candidate for the upcoming generation communication networks. It has been proposed to develop wireless systems that offer both high capability and good performance. To accomplish high date rate and ful?ll the power, MIMO systems are equipped with High Power Ampli?er (HPA). Unfortunately, the nonlinearity of HPA has a crucial impact and affects the receiver’s performance. Due to the high bandwidth utilization efficiency, multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) techniques have become a major trend for modern communications. However, MIMO-OFDM techniques need exact synchronization and channel estimation methods to compensate the frequency offset and utilize the multiple antenna diversity.

An ANN based mobile robot control through voice command recognition using Nepali language
The analog speech signal can be used for interacting with machines, computers or robots. In this case, speech algorithm is capable to recognize the voice commands that are given as inputs to a mobile robot through wireless XBee modules. It is actually a form of Word Recognition. In this presented paper, a voice command recognition system is going to be developed by using Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The Commands that used here are all in Nepali Languages (used in North East India). Linear predictive coding (LPC) has been applied to represent speech signal in frames in early stage. Features from the selected frames are used to train multilayer perceptrons (MLP) using back-propagation. The same routine is applied to the speech signal during the recognition stage and unknown test patterns are classified to the nearest patterns. In short, the selected frames represent the local features of the speech signal and all of them contribute to the global similarity for the whole speech signal. The analysis, design and development of the automation system are done in MATLAB, in which an isolated word speaker independent digits recogniser is developed.

Some aspects of energy efficient for refrigeration and air conditioning
Over the years, all parts of a commercial refrigerator, such as the compressor, heat exchangers, refrigerant, and packaging, have been improved considerably due to the extensive research and development efforts carried out by academia and industry. However, the achieved and anticipated improvement in conventional refrigeration technology are incremental since this technology is already nearing its fundamentals limit of energy efficiency is described is ‘magnetic refrigeration’ which is an evolving cooling technology. The word ‘green’ designates more than a colour. It is a way of life, one that is becoming more and more common throughout the world. An interesting topic on ‘sustainable technologies for a greener world’ details about what each technology is and how it achieves green goals. Recently, conventional chillers using absorption technology consume energy for hot water generator but absorption chillers carry no energy saving. With the aim of providing a single point solution for this dual purpose application, a product is launched but can provide simultaneous chilling and heating using its vapour absorption technology with 40% saving in heating energy. Using energy efficiency and managing customer energy use has become an integral and valuable exercise. The reason for this is green technology helps to sustain life on earth. This not only applies to humans but to plants, animals and the rest of the ecosystem. Energy prices and consumption will always be on an upward trajectory. In fact, energy costs have steadily risen over last decade and are expected to carry on doing so as consumption grows. This article discusses the potential for such integrated systems in the stationary and portable power market in response to the critical need for a cleaner energy technology for communities. Throughout the theme several issues relating to renewable energies, environment and sustainable development are examined from both current and future perspectives.
