Assessment of natural radioactivity levels in cement samples commonly used for construction in Lagos and Ogun State, Nigeria
The activity concentrations of natural radionuclides 238U, 232Th and 40K in the cement samples used for construction in Lagos and Ogun State Nigeria were measured by gamma spectrometry using a well-type NaI (Tl) detector. Radiological hazard assessments due to these natural radionuclides were carried out. The average activity concentrations of 238U, 232Th and 40K determined in the samples were 2.16, 7.82 and 114.3 Bq/kg respectively. The mean absorbed dose rate, the mean annual effective dose, excess lifetime cancer risk and annual gonadal equivalent dose in the samples analyzed were 9.59 nGy/h, 17.66 µSv/y, 67.99 (MPY)-1 and 69.07 µSv/y respectively. Values of radium equivalent activity (Raeq), external (Hex) and internal (Hin) hazard indices and gamma activity concentration index (I?) were also estimated. The results obtained in all cases are well below the world average. Therefore, cements produced in this part of the country are safe and considered to have negligible radiological impact on the health of the individuals exposed to them.

Bio-flotation of Eastern Desert Iron Ores Using Bacillus subtilis
With increasing demand for steel and depletion of high-grade iron ore deposits, more research efforts are being directed toward extending the life of existing ore reserves and developing technology to treat low-grade iron ore resources. Interaction between Bacillus subtilis and iron ore minerals such iron oxide and, quartz brought about significant surface chemical changes. Quartz was rendered more hydrophilic, while iron oxide became more hydrophobic mineral after bacterial interaction. The surface properties were studied using zeta potential, SEM, adhesion of strains to the minerals’ surface and contact angle. In this work Bacillus subtilis was isolated from Egyptian iron ore surface. The results revealed that a strong interaction was occurred. A concentrate contains 90.88% Fe2O3 [64 % Fe (total)] and 4.46% SiO2 was obtained through bio-flotation from a feed contains 70.04% Fe2O3 [49.33% Fe (total)] and 21.18% SiO2.

CFD Analysis of Centrifugal Air Compressor for Turbocharged IC Engine
Compressor characteristics, being representations of the compressor pressure ratio as a function of gas flow through the compressor have been studied. Compressors are used in turbochargers to increase the pressure of air and also its density greater than ambient. Choosing the right compressor is very important in obtaining best power output of engine by turbocharging, so it is important to have compressor map for matching turbocharger with a particular engine. Compressor map is drawn by running compressor at varying speeds and mass flows. In this paper compressor characteristics were investigated through CFD analysis.

Analysis of Preheat ignition of air on engine performance using waste exhaust heat recovery
Since the inception of industrial revolution, a continuous attempt has been made to recover and minimize the waste heat. In the present research paper review on heat pipe is done. Through heat pipe the hot air is used to pre heat the inlet air of 4 stroke diesel engines. Further, the different performance parameter is calculated for the analyzing the effect of pre heat inlet air in comparison of normal air. Variation of Performance is discussed and salient conclusion is drawn which indicates that, a wide scope is available for further research on heat pipe and especially in the relation of IC engine exhaust heat recovery system to preheat the inlet air.

Normally, humans have only one urinary bladder but it’s not so in the case of bladder duplication because more than one bladder is present in this case and it occurs as a result of an abnormal development of the body specifically the abnormal development of the urinary system during the fourth week of embryological development. Bladder duplication was classified by Abrahamson into two forms based on the degree of duplication; complete and incomplete bladder duplication. And also, it can be classified into sagittal or coronal duplication based on the position of the accessory bladder in relation to the normal bladder.

Prospects for Addis Ababa to become regional investment and commercial dispute settlement center
Disputes have existed in all cultures, religions, and societies since time immemorial, as long as humans have dwelt the earth. Nations, groups, and individuals have tried throughout history to manage conflicts in order to minimize the negative and undesirable effects that dispute may pose. Disputes can develop in any situation where people interact, in every situation where two or more persons, or groups of people, perceive that their interests are opposing, and that these interests cannot be met to the satisfaction of all the parties involved. The phrase dispute resolution is simply a collection of procedures intended to prevent, manage or resolve disputes and refers procedures ranging from negotiation to state sanctioned mechanisms called litigation. As volume of international economic transactions rise, resultant disputes require efficient and effective resolutions. There are many regional and international investment and commercial dispute resolution centers. By relying on secondary data sources and qualitative data description and analysis, this article firmly argues that Addis Ababa which is capital city of both Ethiopia and Africa has great prospect to become regional commercial and investment dispute resolution center. It suggests also that all concerned bodies should act to tap this opportunity.

“Cryptorchidism”-Embryological basis and its clinical importance
Cryptorchidism is the most common defect of the male urogenital tract at birth. It signifies a risk factor for primitive testiculopathy associated with long-term complications (infertility, testicular neoplasia, and hormonal changes). It may appear as an isolated disorder or can be a consequence of genetic and endocrine abnormalities connected with somatic anomalies. Its genetic relation still seems to be indistinct although a choice of genes can be answerable for the growth of this syndrome. Cryptorchidism can be related with serum testosterone level though the co-existing hypogonadotropic hypogonadism may also designate the association of pituitary hormones.
