Parametric study of self supported steel chimney
Present study deal with the investigation on parametric study on self supporting chimney considering in three different cities of India . The 65 m height and 80 m height of chimneys were selected and analyzed for wind force and seismic loadings for seismic zone III , IV and V, as per Indian standards (IS: 6533 -1989 ) and IS 1893(part 1) 2002. The wind loads were determined as per IS 875-1987 for the basic wind speed 47m/s, 50m/s and 55m/s. The thicknesses of the chimney were kept constant for this study. Significant increments were observed in displacement, bending moment and shear force for different seismic and wind zones. The results of self supporting steel chimney were obtained out with the above said parameters.

Seismic analysis of RC frames with different masonry infill walls with and without opening
Reinforced concrete frames structures with unreinforced masonry infill walls are prevailing in developing countries like India with regions of high seismicity. The aim of this study is to compare different response parameter on the effect of different masonry infill materials for reinforced concrete frames . For this purpose G+14 RC framed building were model with different infill materials and Response spectrum method has been executed for the analysis as per IS1893:2002 using Etabs software. The variation of base shear, storey drift, and displacement were obtained by the analysis of three RC frame models viz. bare frame, in-filled frame and open first storey frames were carried out. For modelling of infill wall, Equivalent diagonal strut method is used to find out the width of strut using FEMA approach. The results are compared and shown in the form of graphs. The results show that with addition to opening, hollow concrete block and fly ash brick frame in-filled models exhibit superior seismic behaviour.

Peripheral facial palsy and orbital apex syndroma as complications of an advanced nasopharyngeal paediatric rhabdomyosarcoma
Rhabdomyosarcoma is the most common soft tissue sarcoma encounered in childhood and adolescence; that arises from embryonic mesenchyme. It is most common found in the head and neck region, and the parameningeal location has the least favorable prognosis because of its tendency to local and intracranial extension. Parameningeal Rhabdomyosarcoma represents a diagnostic and therapeutic problem. We present the case of a child who got treated for her local nasopharyngeal rhabdomyosarcoma for over 1 month, and then got admitted for cranial nerve paralysis (peripheral facial palsy and Orbital apex syndrome) after the cranial extension of the tumor.

A comparative study on shale gas exploration opportunity in the eastern dahomey basin, Nigeria
The Eastern Dahomey Basin is a rift basin located in the Southwestern part of Nigeria with formations spanning from the Cretaceous to Tertiary ages which are well defined in their lithology types ranging from sand, silt, carbonates, and shale. Shale is now considered as a reservoir rock in the unconventional petroleum system unlike its previous characterisation as only a source rock and/or seal in the conventional petroleum play. The hydrocarbon field operators in the Dahomey basin have reported higher percentage of gas production up to 20% LPG and 52% gas and also identified the syn-rift to contain light oil and condensate-rich gas. The increasing demand of natural gas as a cleaner energy compared to other fossil fuels and the several commercialization strategies of the Federal Government of Nigeria has necessitated the exploration possibility of more gas, even unconventional gas. This paper reviewed the geological and geochemical properties of the Dahomey basin from previous authors and selected some producing plays in the USA as possible analogues for its shale gas potential.

Autoimmune pancreatitis, pseudo-tumor form mimicking a pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
Autoimmune pancreatitis is a rare form of chronic pancreatitis. There are two diffuse and focal forms that mimic the appearance of a pseudo-mass or pancreatic adenocarcinoma, which the differential diagnosis may be difficult, The classic CT scan appearance of AIP is that of diffuse hypertrophy of the sausage shaped pancreas and a pathognomonic hypodense peripheral ring with a delayed contrast enhancement, Focal pancreatic involvement is often seen in the head of the pancreas and appears in the form of a mass mimicking pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

The Vices of Corruption and Insecurity as Banes to the Socio-Economic Development of Nigeria. The Place of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission
There exist a linkage between poverty- corruption – and insecurity in Nigeria and these vices affect the socio-economic and political development of Nigeria. The objective of this work therefore, is to underscore the vices of corruption and insecurity as banes to the socio- economic development of Nigeria, and consider the powers of the economic and financial crime commission in curbing these vices. Using questionnaires and in-depth interviews, data were drawn from 100 members of staff of the EFCC. he work adopted the Yaro Yameni formula in order to determine its sample size and a simple random sampling technique to give each element of the population an equal chance of being selected. Findings revealed that the EFCC is incapacitated in the performance of its duties especially when offenders are high profiled elites/members of the ruling party, leading to delays in court trials, unsubstantiated judgment, or outright dismissal of cases. The work recommends that considering the linkage between poverty, corruption and insecurity in Nigeria, public funds should be utilized to create more job opportunities and sincere or transparent empowerment programmes should be created to engage the youth thereby distracting them from being used to perpetrate violence. Again, a prerequisite for holding political or public office should be the prospective holder’s reputation in previous workplace, fear of God, corruption history, and love for humanity.
