Fuzzy based random valued Impulse noise suppression using optimal direction method
This paper proposed new techniques based on fuzzy logic in optimal direction for suppression of random valued impulse noise in digital images. The deviation of the test pixel from its neighboring pixels present in the optimal direction shows its corruption level. According to how much a pixel is impulse-like, a fuzzy index is assigned to each and every pixel in the image. After the detection of impulsivity of each pixel, a non-local mean filter is employed for noise suppression. Extensive simulations are performed to prove that the proposed techniques give better visual quality and quantitative measurement than recent impulse noise suppression techniques.

Youth Problems in India: Issues and Challenges

India has the largest youth population and if we look on the past youth plays a very important role in Indian freedom fights and right from then it was well recognized that the youth power is very essential in the development of India and to make our country a better place to live. In Indian history we can take the example of Swami Vivekananda a youth icon. He taught us what a young should must have and values of life. Similarly Bhagat Singh who was the youngest freedom fighter who sacrifices his life for the freedom of our motherland. Determination of Transient Longitudinal Vibration Response of Intermediate Supports of a Structure Simulating a Short Length Bridge Subjected to Vehicular Traffic
The objective of the investigation is to mathematically simulate dynamics and vibrations of a small structure. This structure is simulating a short length bridge with 3 spans, two end fixed supports and 2 intermediate supports. The top bridge portion of the structure is subjected to a concentrated moving load simulating a vehicle moving on the bridge. Structural Analysis as regards determination of support moments and reactions is done by Matrix Method of Structural Analysis. All supports are subjected to time varying reactions. Considering intermediate supports as a single DOF system, the transient vibration response is ascertained.

Fundamentals of Digital Image Processing and Classification
Remotely-sensed data obtained from satellites or aircraft are usually geometrically distorted due to the acquisition system and the movements of the platform. Preprocessing of satellite images prior to image classification and change detection is essential. Image Processing is a technique which is used to enhance raw images received from cameras and sensors placed on satellites, space probes and aircrafts or pictures taken in normal day-to-day life for various applications. Digital image processing is the technique of processing images in the form of discrete digital brightness quantities by means of using digital circuits or digital computers.

The association between IL-18 gene polymorphism and cerebral palsy in northern Chinese population
Cerebral palsy (CP) in children is a seriously disabling disease which is a threat to children's health and causes enormous emotional stress and financial loss to the affected families and the community. This study aimed to explore the association of IL-18 gene polymorphism with cerebral palsy by IL-18 genotyping. This was a case-control study that used DNA from 120 children with cerebral palsy and 120 control children to test polymorphisms in exon-4 and exon-5 of IL-18 gene. A polymorphic site in exon-4of IL-18 gene,A105C, was significantly different in genotype distribution between case group and control group. Compared with type AC+CC individuals, type AA individuals were associated with lower risk for cerebral palsy. There was no significant difference in the possible polymorphic site in exon-5of IL-18 gene, G276A, between the two groups. Presence of polymorphism in IL-18 gene is associated with an increased risk of cerebral palsy.

Proximate and anti-nutritional composition of “ntiti-ikpa”, and “ntubiri”, traditional diets of the ikwerre ethinic national in Nigeria
The proximate and anti-nutritional composition of “ntiti-ikpa” and “ntubiri”, diets of Ikwerre people was studied. The diets were prepared following their traditional methods of preparation. Results of proximate contents revealed the presence of high carbohydrates, fibre and proteins in the studied samples. Anti-nutrients such as tannins, alkaloids, oxalates, phyates were also detected in the studied samples. Aside being anti-nutrients, some of the anti-nutrient compounds could as well be beneficial to the body. This study has shown the proximate and anti-nutritional composition of “ntiti-ikpa” and “ntubiri” diets.

Effect of storage environment on the bacterial load and diversity of used toothbrushes
An attempt to draw a correlation between the bacterial load and diversity of used toothbrushes and their storage environment was made. Five different groups of twenty-five individuals each representing bathroom/toilet (BT), kitchen (KT), cupboard (CB), refrigerator (RF) and bag (BG) as the storage environments for used toothbrushes were given a new toothbrush with in-mould placement of filament (Same type and brand) and advised to follow their normal oral hygiene for a two-month period with storage as designated. At the end, the toothbrushes were collected and analysed for bacterial load and diversity using different selective growth media and subsequently biochemical identification to the genus level. Bacterial load of the entire environment had a range of 9.84×106 to 2.0 104 cfu/ml. BT has the highest microbial load followed by KT while RF had the least. Streptococci had the highest count followed by Staphylococci, Escherichia, Pseudomonas and Aerococci respectively and they were all present in all the storage environments. Salmonella/Shigella was only found in BT, Corynebacterium was found in samples of all the storage environments excluding RF while Lactobacilli was not present in BT and BG. Control test using unused toothbrushes stored at the different storage environments revealed a few colonies of Staphylococci and coliforms from three out of five storage environments. Refrigerator is benchmark the best storage environment though under adequate personal and home hygiene. An extensive study placing apparent correlation between oral health status of human subjects and storage environment is suggested.

Information: pivotal of improved agricultural productivity and development in Nigeria
This study assessed the role of agricultural information dissemination and utilization in sustainable and improved agricultural productivity and development in Nigeria. Agricultural information dissemination and utilization is viewed as a transfer of messages by various media resources, systems and users. This is normally done through four channels; the individual, interpersonal, organization and the social system. This study was carried out by means of quantitative method which involved the design and administration of questionnaires to 480 rural farmers in Nigeria. Findings from the study revealed that major sources of agricultural information to rural farmers was media (radio, television and newspapers) with very rare contact with extension workers who were ordinarily in the best position to exchange agricultural information with rural farmers. The findings further showed that there are acute missing link between agricultural reformative information and sustainable farming in Nigeria. The study recommends the need for government increased efforts in Agricultural information dissemination to transforming the economy through continued investment in agricultural productivity and development.
