The influence of low cost material Fly ash to the removal of COD content of Sugar Industry waste water
With the consideration of minimizing the problem of water pollution, it is necessary to clarify the industrial waste water at the place of its generation point by some chemical or biological treatment method. During present study the low cost material fly ash i.e. the waste of thermal power station which itself produce pollution of environment is used for purpose of water pollution control. Fly ash with specific surface area of 6177.15 cm2/gm is used as a clarifier to the combined waste water of Sugar mill at room temperature. The different dosage of fly ash is kept in contact for 24 hours, then they will analyzed before and after treatment. The results of COD removal follow the Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption isotherm.

An investigation into cultural effects of l2 learning: a case study of Iranian young versus adult learners of English
This study aimed at discovering if young and adult learners of English language who had been taught Interchange Series would be similarly affected in terms of cultural orientations. To unravel whether learning a foreign language presupposes cultural adaptability, the study also sought if the two groups would perform differently on their achievement tests. To conduct the study, a questionnaire was constructed based on the cultural components discovered in the Interchange Series by Zarei and Khalessi (2010). The two groups of L2 learners who had already completed the three volume Interchange Series in a language institute in Isfahan, Iran, were asked to list the cultural issues from the most preferred to the least. At the end of their program they had sat for their final exams, which were analyzed later. The results indicated that while the adult learners’ preferences were domestically oriented, the young learners of English gave precedence to the cultural issues with western flavor. As regards their course scores, the two groups were not meaningfully different. It can be gathered that textbooks can make young learners conceptualize the world as portrayed therein. The results rejected the idea of acculturation adaptability as a pre-requisite to learning a foreign language.

Statistical methods and complexity of data analysis in recent surgical research
To specify the types of statistical methods, currently most influencing high-quality surgical research, we systematically reviewed original research articles published in The American Journal of Transplantation, Annals of Surgery, Liver Transplantation and The American Journal of Surgical Pathology. We further aimed to determine complexity of data analysis in these journals. Of 518 papers reviewed, 74.7% (95%CI 70.7-78.4) contained methods of inferential statistics. Most frequently used inferential methods among all journals, were basic contingency table analysis, including c²-tests and Fisher’s exact tests, and methods of survival analysis, with observed frequencies of 39.6% (95%CI 35.3-43.9) and 30.7% (95%CI 26.8-34.9), respectively. Other commonly used procedures were nonparametric techniques and t-tests. Complexity of data analysis was rather sophisticated in The American Journal of Transplantation, Annals of Surgery and Liver Transplantation, with more than 50% of papers using advanced statistical techniques. However, nearly 65% of papers from The American Journal of Pathology were purely descriptive, without any analytical power. Our results indicate that more emphasises should be given to the magnitude of treatment differences and to statistical estimation techniques than to solely rely upon uncritical significance testing. Moreover, authors should be encouraged to further utilize new statistical methodology in their research.

Semi self compacting concrete –an innovative material
Self compacting concrete is a form of concrete that is capable of flowing into the congested interior of formwork, passing through the reinforcement and filling it in a natural manner, consolidating under the action of its own weight without segregation and bleeding. The main disadvantage of self compacting concrete is that it is very difficult to make it without using superplasticizers or viscosity modifying agents. The use of these chemical admixtures makes the production cost of self compacting concrete high. An attempt has been made to develop a new material which will combine the advantages self compacting concrete and the normal compacting concrete. This innovative new material is given the name semi self compacting concrete. Semi self compacting concrete can be made without the use of chemical admixtures at the same time it is capable of flowing easily under the action of minimal external energy without the need for vibration. The procedure for making semi self compacting concrete has been presented. Semi self compacting concrete mixes were cast. Tests on fresh and hardened semi self compacting concrete were conducted. It is found that the semi self compacting mixes developed satisfied the requirements of flowability, passibility and segregation resistance. The 56th day strength of the mixes was found to be satisfactory.

Simulation of fed-batch fermentation process using single-term HAAR wavelet series
In recent years it has been acknowledged that to significantly improve biological system performance and productivity, control, including optimal control, should be implemented online. The dynamics of biological processes are highly non-linear and key variables are difficult to measure. As an aid to contributing solutions to the twin difficulties of complex dynamics and measurement difficulty a relatively simple mathematical model has been developed for the purpose of evaluating optimal controllers. In this paper a simulation of fed-batch fermentation is developed which includes the no-linear dynamics of the process using single-term Haar wavelet series (STHW) method.

Prospects of forward contracting of inputs among Nigerian crop farmers and agricultural input marketers
Forward contracting can help reduce the problem of inputs supply risk which is inherent in Nigeria’s agriculture. This research work concentrated on the prospect of the strategy among crop farmers and agricultural input marketers. ‘The results of the study revealed that majority of the respondents’ supported forward contracting of inputs and were willing to engage in the strategy. However, low capital base of enterprise, possible default by farmers and late payments are possible reasons why Agricultural input marketers may not be willing to go into a forward contract with crop farmers. The age of farmer, number of crop enterprises, years of experience, capital base of farmer and extension visits were significant factors influencing farmers’ willingness to engage in forward contracting of inputs. There is need to create more awareness about ‘forward contracts’ among agricultural input marketers and farmers in the country. Agricultural credit should be made affordable, available and accessible to input marketers by Micro Finance Banks and the Nigeria Agricultural Bank to improve their capital base. State and Local Government Authorities in collaboration with farmers’ cooperative societies should stand as guarantors for Farmers who are willing to engage in forward contracting.

Consumer preference on mobile connections and buyer behaviour towards reliance mobile in Salem city
The Study entitled “As Study on the consumer preference on various mobile connections and buyer behaviour” was conducted in Salem with special reference to RELIANCE INFOCOMM. The study was undertaken to know the preference level of consumers towards various mobile connections. Both primary and secondary data was collected by interview method and referring the company manual and website of the company. The statistical tool used in the study was percentage analysis, weighted average Method, chi square test, one sample run test. The limitation of the study was that the data provided by the respondents may be false at times and it is confined to 200 consumers only and conducted in Salem only.

A study on labour absorption in paddy crop: with special reference to Salem district, Tamilnadu
The Present Study discusses women labour absorption in paddy crop with special Reference to Salem District Tamilnadu. Most of the developing countries through the emphasis on industrialization, the agriculture continues to be the main source of employment of the people in these countries. The absorption of women in agriculture and allied activities is in no way insignificant in these countries.

A new technique for accurate image registration of Monomodality images
This paper presents a new technique, used to register two images of the same modality and that are assumed to be differ from each other, by a rotation and a scale. Recently, researchers have introduced image registration techniques using log-polar transform for its scale and rotation invariant properties. However, it suffers from non-uniform sampling and it leads to inaccurate registration. Inspired by log polar transform, a new technique, fast uniform polar transform (FUPT) is used to overcome these disadvantages. The proposed method yields more accurate registration than log polar transform.
