A convenient, rapid and eco-friendly synthesis of Chalcones 3-(Substitutedphenyl)-N-(4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)acrylamide
In this work, an attempt was made to synthesize chalcones 3-(Substitutedphenyl)-N-(4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)acrylamide by condensation of Substitutedbenzaldehyde with N-(4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)acetamide under basic conditions by using both conventional and Microwave synthesis methods. A simple condensation reaction of substiutedbenzaldehyde and N-(4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)acetamide using Sodium hydroxide as a base was carried out for the study. The synthesized chalcone derivatives were characterized for FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and Mass spectral analysis. It was observed that complete conversion to chalcone occurred in 10-12 min by Microwave synthesis method and in 10 h by conventional method. Finally, it has been observed that chalcone synthesis using Microwave synthesis method is a Convenient, Rapid and Eco-Friendly Synthesis over conventional method. The reaction time has been brought down from hours to seconds with improved yield as compared to conventional heating.

Parenting Behavior and Anxiety amongst Malaysian Adolescents
Structural equation modeling (SEM) was performed to test the hypothesized relationship between maternal and paternal parenting behavior and adolescents’ anxiety. Probability proportional to size sampling (PPS) technique was used to identify 1,200 school-going adolescents (aged 12-17 years) from selected daily secondary schools in Malaysia. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaire that comprised questions on demographic information, Parenting Behavior scale, as well as Beck Anxiety Inventory-Malay (BAI-Malay). The structural modeling proposed that maternal and paternal hostility were found to be associated with higher levels of anxiety. Findings seem to indicate that low-quality of parenting behavior would put adolescent at an increased risk for subsequent anxiety problem. Implications are discussed in relation to efforts that would help to diminish internalizing problems in adolescents, particularly anxious symptoms.

Head and facial measurements among the Kunbi of Uttara Kannada district, Karnataka
The Kunbi of Uttara Kannada District are divided into two endogamous groups namely Kunbi and Atte Kunbi. They have migrated from Goa and entered Karnataka State through the Coastal region. They are settled down in the five taluks of Uttara Kannada District namely Yellapur, Joida, Karwar, Ankola and Haliyal. They live in the remote parts of the forest. When the somatometric measurements of Kunbi males compared with males of the local population of the present study show significant differences in the majority of the measurements. Thus, Kunbi somatometrically represent different groups in Karnataka.

Studies on characteristics of Glycine barium nitrate crystal
The title compound of C2H5NO2•Ba (NO3) Glycine Barium Nitrate (GBN), a semiorganic glycine additive material has been grown from slow evaporation solution growth technique at room temperature.. The grown single crystals have been analyzed by powder crystal X-ray diffraction. The title compound has good optical transmission in the entire visible region. The optical band gap has been estimated using Tauc’s plot. Its relative SHG efficiency has been tested by Kurtz powder method and it quite interesting that it acts as poison, not favoring NLO efficiency. Thermal stability of the grown crystal was investigated by thermo gravimetric and differential thermal analyses.

Effective microwave synthesis of some ring fused quinolines
Pyrano[2,3-b]quinolin-2-ones was synthesized by cyclic condensation of 2-chloro-3-formylquinolines with sodium acetate and acetic acid in microwave reactor. Microwave reactions are very inexpensive, operational simplicity, eco-friendly method and good yield in a very short reaction time. Unexpectedly, 3-formylquinolin-2(1H)-ones were exclusively formed in very high yield by changing the molar ratio of acetic acid and sodium acetate in just 1.5 to 2.5 min. The synthesized compounds were characterised by IR, NMR, and Mass Spectra.

Sacrificial Scapegoat Archetype in Edward Albee’s The Goat or who is Sylvia?
This study intends to argue sacrificial scapegoat archetype in The Goat or Who is Sylvia? by Edward Albee, one of the famous American dramatist. For gaining this aim, first, a summary of the play is given. Second, tension and problem which is oriented round a sexual transgression in this play will be discussed. Third, the situation in which recognition and revelation of the problem occurs is to be exposed. A Study on the circularity of The Blind Owl written by Sadegh Hedayat
One of the most obvious and controversial matters seen in the modern literature is circularity of structure. Not being found only in the content of these works, i.e. the speech and thought of the characters, the incident and the actions of such works, circularity also penetrates to the form of such works. The case is that, circularity is not a futile element. It fortifies an aesthetic effect of the works on the reader to a great extent. Furthermore, it represents the circularity of human thought and life and consequently the circularity of his confusion and frustration what he cannot find a convincing answer for it and its occurrence. This article tries to discuss circularity in The Blind owl written by one of the most famous modern Iranian author Sadegh Hedayat.
