Thermodynamic optimization of combined gas and steam power plant
Energy and exergy efficiencies of a of a combined gas and steam power plant under different ambient conditions have been studied in this paper. Irreversibility rate of the plant and its major components were examined at different weather conditions. The effect of condenser pressure variation was considered in the energy and exergy analysis to present a better approach close to the actual condition. It was found that as ambient temperature decreases, exergy efficiency decreases while the energy efficiency remains almost constant. Also the exergy analyses show that the most irreversibility occurs in combustion engine following by gas turbine and compressor. The analyses also show that the condenser pressure is an important parameter that affects the output power, thermal and exergy efficiency of the cycle. Results of this research may help optimization of energy consumption and decreasing the pollution of the environment.

Secure Data Sharing Model for Cloud Systems
Secure Data Sharing Model for Cloud Computing (SSCC) is a new cryptosystem model that aims to store user's data files in a secure manner to keep it away from the unauthorized access. We have developed a new cryptosystem model that based on the Original Hill cipher algorithm using matrices manipulation and symmetric key cryptography. It gave a good impression by comparing it with previous ways where the comparing results between SSCC and Hill Cipher 6.86% improvement in the encryption time. While when we compare SSCC and Advance Encryption Standard (AES) the difference was 3.94% for AES which means that the proposed model has a chance to compete with AES model. Another comparison is done to cover the two cases: SSCC1 and SSCC2, the SSCC1 with and without compression decreasing the encryption time in a percentage of 96.287%.

Supernumerary teeth are one that is additional to the normal series and can be found in any region of dental arch. They duplicate the typical anatomy of posterior and anterior teeth, whereas rudimentary supernumerary teeth are dysmorphic and can presume conical forms, tuberculate form, molariform or odontome. They may be single or multiple, unilateral or bilateral, erupted or unerupted, and one or both jaw. The aim of this report is to present a case of a 13 year old boy with a mesiodens associated with maxillary anterior proclination.

Health Risk Assessment of Some Heavy Metals in Groundwater Resource in Warri Metropolis
Health risk assessment of three heavy metals (Pb, Cd and Cr) in groundwater resource in warri metropolis was confirmed by this research. Twenty (20) hand dug well water were analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. Results showed that Lead ranged in concentration from 0-0.04mg/l. Cadmium ranged from 0-0.040 mg/l. Chromium concentrations ranged from 0-0.004mg/l. The combined hazard index (HI) values via ingestion of water were greater than unity and may poses health risk from oral exposure. Use of concrete ring to protect the dug wells are strongly recommended to avoid storm waters and other lecheates from dumpsites and other industrial waste.

Physiological, Phenological and Grain Yield responses in Wheat due to Delayed Sowing.
Time of sowing is one of the important factors that govern crop physiology, phenological development along with efficient partitioning of biomass production into economic yields. Due to prolonged duration of preceding crops like rice, cotton, sugarcane and on account of untimately rains, the sowing of succeeding wheat crop gets delayed and is exposed to sub-optimal temperature (High temperature) at establishment, resulting in reduction of not only crop duration but also crop yield. This low yield is due to growth acceleration reduction in duration of crop development stages and carbon starvation due to reduced net assimilation. Genetic progress in increasing the yield potential is closely associated with an increase photosynthetic activity (Rees et al.1993 and Fisher et al.1998).Therefore the present study was conducted to screen photo-synthetic efficient wheat genotypes under delayed sowing condition.

An Investigation of Student Councils Involvement in Decision Making and Its Effect on Students’ Discipline in Nandi North Sub-County.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Student Councils Involvement in Decision Making and Its Effect on Students’ Discipline in Nandi North Sub-County. This study was hinged on the Participative Leadership Theory (Yukl, 1994) which posits that involvement in decision making improves the understanding of the issues in schools. The study adopted mixed research methodology and targeted 43 school principals, 43 deputy principals and 559 student Council leaders. The sample size for students in this study was determined using Krejcie and Morgan formula. The respondents were selected through the use of stratified and simple random sampling techniques. Questionnaires, interviews and document analysis were used for collecting data relevant to this study. Validity was determined through expert opinion while reliability was determined through piloting and use of croncbach alpha. The analysis involved descriptive and inferential statistics namely; Pearson rank correlation. Data was presented in form of tables, figures and charts. Further, most (55.6%) of the student council leaders reported that students in their schools participated in BOM meetings. Similarly, majority of the student council leaders believed that student involvement in decision making through council members have helped solve indiscipline cases in school. The study findings indicated that there is a strong and significant relationship student council involvement in decision making (r = .723) and school discipline in secondary schools in Nandi North Sub-County. This implies that students should be involved in development and implementation of school rules and regulations in order to enhance student discipline. The study will be useful to the Ministry of Education to have information on the operation and effectiveness of students’ councils since it is still a new policy. It also will yield data and information that was useful to policy planners and decision makers to follow up on policy implementation and evaluation on its role in improving the welfare of students.

An Assessment of the Level of Safety of School Environments and its’ Effect on Implementation of Child Friendly Schools Initiative in Uasin Gishu County in Kenya.
This paper examines school safety measures that have been put in place in primary schools to address the concerns for learner friendly environments in Uasin Gishu county, Kenya. The study was guided by the following objective: To assess the level of safety of school environments and its’ effect on implementation of child friendly schools initiative. This study was guided by resiliency theory as proposed by Krovetz (1998). Resiliency theory defines the protective factors in families, schools, and communities that exist in the lives of successful children and youth and compares these protective factors with what is missing from the lives of children and youth who are troubled. This study adopted a pragmatic approach to research and a mixed methods research design. From the 338 public primary schools in the county, a total of 103 schools were sampled to participate in the study which constituted 30% of the target population. A total of 103 headteachers and 103 class seven class teachers and 2,259 class seven pupils, who were grouped into 202 focus group discussions, participated in the study. Data was collected using questionnaires, interviews and focus group discussions. Data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics as well as qualitative techniques. It was established that there is a need for schools to put in place safety measures and rethink their emergency preparedness and response plans. Headteachers and teachers should mobilize resources towards the provision of essential materials such as lightning arresters, fire extinguishers and first aid kits, all of which would enhance safety in the schools in case of emergencies.

Smart Drivers: Travelling Management for Smart Employees
This research is a part of an initiative to improve the service for transportation of employees who work in Thai Industrial Estates. The study aims to find smarter transportation service by using internet-based technology. This kind of service serves employees who travel to work in any factory inside industrial estates, who typically live far from the capital and its public transportation system. For factories with a large workforce and maintain a large fleet of shuttle buses transportation, it is particularly important to set effective routes, transit points and “Pick Up” times, to make it convenient for employees when coming to work. In this study, an application called " Wherever” used on Smart Phone is introduced to address this problem of picking up and transporting employees from different areas, and come to work in the same location. This report demonstrates how useful this new application is, for this purpose.

Teachers’ perception of thematic intergrated approach in teaching learners in ECD in Wareng Sub-County
The paper sought to establish teachers’ perception of thematic intergraded approach in teaching learners in ECD in in Wareng Sub County. The study adopted the use of quantitative and qualitative research methodology (mixed approach of research methodology). This study was carried out in Wareng Sub-County in Uasin Gishu County. The research therefore sampled 43 Head Teachers and 85 ECD teachers ECD teachers since the larger the sample the higher the reliability. Stratified sampling technique was used to select the types of respondents in schools whereby 30% of the target population was selected as the sample size. The data collection instruments employed were; questionnaire, interview schedule and observation checklist. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and measure of central tendency (modes standard deviation and means) qualitative data was analyzed in tabular form. the study revealed that the school provides learners with age appropriate assignments and that the school provides learners with appropriate learning activities. In addition, the learners are provided with thematic activities that make the learner engage in authentic communication, the learners in these schools are provided with self-initiated learning activities that make them learn experimentally and the school provides learning materials like books and play materials to the learners. The study made the following recommendations; the head teachers need to ensure that the schools provide curriculum centered books that are appropriate for the learners’ respective levels and the school should provide learning that accommodates individual learners and abilities.

Indoor play materials availability for teaching mathematical concepts and skills in ECD centers in Eldoret West Sub-County, Kenya
The paper explored indoor play materials available for teaching mathematical concepts and skills in ECD centres in Eldoret West Sub-county. The study was guided by Jean Piaget’s theory of cognitive development in children. Descriptive survey research design was adopted to assess the use of indoor play in enhancing the acquisition of Mathematical concepts and skills. The study was conducted in Eldoret West Sub-county, Kenya. The target population in this study consisted of 181 public ECDE centers with a total of 181 top class ECD teachers that are qualified to teach mathematic activities and 3620 ECDE pupils. 30% of the total number of ECD schools was sampled thus yielding a sample size of 54; that is, 54 ECDE centers out of 181. The researcher selected 362pupils who represented 10% of the target population. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample schools and ECDE pupils. Questionnaires and observation schedule was used to collect data. The data analysis employed the use of both qualitative and quantitative techniques. Majority of the respondents were of the opinion that block play materials are available in this school whereas a significant number of the teachers felt that clay play materials are available in this school and that water and sand play materials are available in this school. The study recommended that the school administration of ECD schools should provide adequate resources and play facilities/materials for the learners to improve on acquisition of mathematical concepts and skills.
