The politics of subsidy removal and the Nigerian economy(A study of Nigeria between 2012 – 2015)
The topic “Fuel subsidy removal and Nigeria economy” was selected from the verities of topic due to the inspiration the research felt forms the topic. Petroleum is the major source of income of Nigeria and it determines most of other aspect of lifes and sectors of the economy. He researcher examines how Nigerians reacted towards the fuel subsidy removal, the strikes, violent demonstrations, high cost of fuel and transportation, high cost of food items and so on. This motivated the research to carry out this research. The research tries to find out how the subsidy removal on fuel has affected the economy and the lifes of the people, he developed so theories (3) which he used to explain the topic and from the research he discovered that majority of Nigerian did not benefit from the fuel subsidy removal as it was mainly enjoyed by rich fuel importers. Also it was discovered that the removal of fuel subsidy lead to an imbalance in the economic sector as prices of goods and services rise drastically leading to protest, strikes, low standard of living in inflation. Finally, the researcher discovered that the fuel subsidy regime is very corrupt, this is because good sum of money were missing and misused and cannot be accounted for. The money gotten from the subsidy removal was supposed to be channeled into other aspect of the economy but this was not the case because there was low impact in Agricultural sector, infrastructures and provision of basic social amenities. Therefore, he discovered that if the other sectors of the economy are in a very good shape, it will go a long way in sustaining and reviving the economy and promote growth and development in Nigeria.

Cultural Heritage: A Tool for Poverty Eradication and Social Development in Nigeria
Cultural resources are pivoted to the development of heritage industry, tourism and economic fortune of a nation. Nigeria has a diverse and rich heritage consisting of natural and cultural sites of universal importance. Economy and cultural imperatives are recognized as the most powerful forces shaping human development. This paper looks at how preserving and promoting cultural heritage is fundamental to the eradication of poverty and usher in peace and harmony and the importance of community participation in implementing such measures. The paper examines federal government policy and the practical challenges of empowering people to harness the economic potentials of their cultural heritage for their material benefits. And there fore recommend the need for the federal , State and Local Government to put in place measures by which youths amongst others are empowered thereby reduction of poverty through the exploitation of our cultural heritage.

Spatial variation and thickness determination of clay deposit using geo-electrical method at omi-adio, Ibadan, Southwestern Nigeria
A geo-electric survey involving vertical electric sounding (VES) was carried out at the Nigeria Mining Corporation‘s quarry at Omi-adio near Ibadan Southwestern Nigeria, with a view to determinning the thickness and spatial variation of the clay deposit in the study area. Twenty VES were carried out in four traverses using a Geopulse Tigre terrameter within the vicinity of the study area with each traverse having four to six VES points. Quantitative interpretation of the data involved partial curve matching and computer assisted iteration method. A 3D contour map showing the variation of clay resistivity and thickness was also plotted. The results show that the deposit is made up of four lithological layers namely top soil, sandy clay, clay and weathered/fresh basement. The resistivity curves fall into five categories HA type (i.e. > < < ) KH type (i.e. < > < ), QH type (i.e. > > < ), A type (i.e. < < ), H type (i.e. > < ) with KH type dominant. Also the Geoelectric section shows that the top soil has resistivity between 11.5 and 155.6 and thickness between 0.7m and 3.8m. The sandy clay layer has thickness between 0.2m and 4.0m and resistivity between 71.5 and 278.8 . The clay layer has resistivity between 7.7 and 33.5 and thickness between 4.8 and 31.0 while the fresh/weathered basement has resistivity between 46.3 and 871.7 .The depth to bedrock is between 6.2m and 32.9m.The coefficients of anisotropy fall between 1.01 and 1.76 suggesting the presence of good quality clay.

Innovation of airport runway by international standards
This paper involves the design of the international runway for the proposed Gannavaram International airport site. The data required for the designing part was taken from the competent authority ‘City Industrial Development Corporation’ (CIDCO). The runway has been designed by international standards following the design procedure given by the ‘International Civil Aviation Organization’ (ICAO). Physical characteristics of the runway and its sections have been studied in depth and designed according to the standards. Images have been provided for better understanding. . Water Quality Assessment of River Osun, Osogbo, Nigeria Using HEC-RAS Model
Water is life and every human activity revolves round its availability. Inadequate hydrological data on River Osun has discouraged researchers from modelling water quality across the river. This study modelled water quality across the river using Hydrologic Engineering Centre River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) software. Forty (40) water samples were collected from upstream (70 45' 26", 40 37' 22") (Kajola, Owode), midstream (70 44' 17", 40 33' 20") (Oke-Jetu, Isale-Osun), and downstream (70 45' 06", 40 32' 41") (Gbodofon, Ebunoluwa) sampling stations on River Osun from May 2015 to January 2016. Physical [Temperature and Total Dissolve Solid (TDS)], Chemical [Carbonaceous Oxygen Demand, Dissolved Oxygen, Nitrate-Nitrogen, Nitrite-Nitrogen, and Orthophosphate] and Biological (BOD) tests were carried out on the water samples using standard procedure (APHA, 2005). These parameters were input into HEC-RAS software to simulate water quality on River Osun. Three hundred (300) developed questionnaires on the prevalence of water borne diseases in Osogbo were distributed to households and health workers. Pearson correlation Coefficients (PCC) was used to analyse the data at 5% significance level. Temperature and TDS for rainy and dry season varied from (24.9 - 28.9)0C and (29.0 -339)0C; (90 -110) mg/l; (41.9 - 64.3) mg/l, respectively. The temporal variation of DO, NO3-N, NO2-N and PO43- for rainy and dry seasons parameters varied from (5.2 - 7.6) mg/l and (3.21 - 6.10) mg/l; (0.00 -7.41) mg/l and (9.0 - 19.3); (0.207 - 0.622) and (0.715 - 1.145) mg/l; (3.64 - 5.91) mg/l and (4.04 - 6.21) mg/l, respectively. The BOD values ranged from (0.4 -2 .0) mg/l and (1.93 - 2.96) mg/l, respectively for the rainy and dry seasons. Significance correlation (p< 0.05, 16 df) does occur between the pair of resident with water borne diseases and stations at upstream and midstream of the river in water samples with high pollution sources, there is low correlation (p<0.05 16 and 14 df) between the pair of other stations across the river and residents with water borne diseases. The DO, CBOD, NO3-N, NO2-N, and PO43- output from HEC-RAS for rainy and dry seasons varied from (5.6 -7.4) mg/l and (3.391-5.828) mg/l; (14.81 -15.69) mg/l and (15.87-15.93) mg/l; (0.235 - 5.43827) mg/l and (13.24 -19.1) mg/l; (0.806484 - 1.22) and (0.2085 - 0.4041) mg/l; (3.76-5.16) mg/l and (4.12 - 4.88) mg/l , respectively across the river. The result can be useful to trace the pollution sources and develop water resources management towards achieving Vision 20:2020.

Remand In Ethiopia: A Critical Legal Appraisal
Pre-trial detention of people on remand is against the very fundamental human rights of an individual as those peoples are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Under the criminal procedure code of Ethiopia and other laws an individual appearing before the court to face charges is entitled to a presumption in favor of bail unless he is charged with an offence which falls in the scope of article 63 and 64 of the code. Detained persons do have also the right to be brought before the court of law within 48 hours and have a fair and public trial. However, the courts have used their stretched discretion to manage people via custodial remand before testing the evidence produced against them. The standard of the evidence that can be relied up on to justify remand to custody is vague and apparently uncontrolled by the principle of presumption of innocence which goes against the spirit of the FDRE constitution and other international human rights instruments. Hence, this article concludes that remand is the battered right.

Twisted para-tubal cyst: An unusual cause of pelvic pain during pregnancy
The twist of a para-tubal cyst is an uncommon situation that must be evoked for any pelvic pain for a young woman. Pelvic ultrasound coupled with the Doppler must be realized at first. Ovarian cyst and tubal cyst are the main differential diagnoses. We report the case of a young woman of 36 weeks of amenorrhea, who consulted for a progressive right iliac pit pains. The diagnosis of twisted para tubal cyst was confirmed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
