Dislocation of the shoulder of associated multiple fractures of the same member
The authors report two cases of rare lesional associations on the samelimb segment. Two patients victims of violent trauma showed a dislocation of the shoulder associated with fracture on the same member (the diaphysis and the humeral, diaphysis and distal radius). They were treated in emergency First Direct fractures but without touching the shoulder to reduce the dislocation. The decline was 9 months to one and 6 months for the other. The functional result is satisfactory.

The rupture of patella tendon about ten cases
Patellar tendon rupture is a rare disease. It is often confused with lesions of the quadriceps tendon, fins and patellar fractures parcel of the patella. We report ten cases of rupture of the patellar tendon which eight were new and two neglected. Treatment was always surgical. In recent lesions (8 cases) by a simple suture nonabsorbable suture was performed, it was reinforced by a steel strapping over. Plasty further by the semitendinosus tendon was necessary in one case. In both cases neglected plasty was necessary. It was conducted by the aponeurosis of the quadriceps in one case, the tendon of the semitendinosus in the other cases. The results are satisfactory. They are good in eight cases of recent lesion and two lesions in ways neglected. Early diagnosis is easy. It allows access to the best results in the treatment of fresh lesions. The treatment of neglected injuries, despite the various techniques, gives results fair or poor.

Bilateralpatellar tendon rupture in a young sport
Simultaneous rupture of the two patellartendons are exceptional in sports young people without predisposing systemic disease. Diagnosis is essentially clinical help with radiography. Surgical treatment gives good result. We report a case of a 35 years old young sport with a subcutaneousbilateral rupture of the patellar tendon.

Magnetohydrodynamic oscillatory Stokes flow past a porous sphere
In this paper, the magnetohydrodynamic oscillatory Stokes flow past a porous sphere has been discussed. A uniform magnetic field is applied transversely to the flow field. Flow outside the porous region is governed by unsteady Stokes equation and Darcy’s law is used in the porous region. Drag and torque are calculated using Faxen’s law. It is observed that the increase or decrease of the drag and torque depends on the effect of magnetic field with variable permeability. The effect of magnetic field on various flow quantities like drag and torque has been observed for uniform oscillatory flow, doublet in uniform flow and oscillating Stokeslet. Graphs are plotted for various measures and results are obtained using these graphs.

Diversity of freshwater prawns (crustacea: decapoda: palaemonidae and atyidae) in the river Cauvery
The river Cauvery is one of the major perennial river in the peninsular India, which originates at Talakaveri of Brahmagiri Hills of Western Ghat in Coorg District, Karnataka and flows eastwards through Tamil Nadu state and enter into Bay of Bengal. It runs a distance of about 1170 km with many tributaries and distributaries. Which carries a large amount of nutrient and probably promotes species richness both racially and individually. The Grand Anaicut and Lower Anaicut are the main distributaries of Cauvery deltaic regions of Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Cuddalore and Nagapattinam districts. In view of large volume of nutrients and water availability. The productivity of water is significant and therefore the prawns are diverse. In the present study 12 species of prawns which are commercially and ecologically important have been identified. They are Macrobrachium malcolmsonii, M. aemulum, M. nobilii, M. australe, M. rude, M. lamarrei, M. scabriculum, M. indicum, M. dolichodactylus, Caridina nilotica, C. gracilipes and C. gracilirostris. The present study significant to the presence of commercially important and ecologically important populations available in the Grand Anaicut and Lower Anaicut regions of river Cauvery. The prawns of the river Cauvery are documented.

Modified arithmetic operations of focal elements and their corresponding basic probability assignments in evidence theory
Dempster-Shafer theory offers an alternative to traditional probabilistic theory for the mathematical representation of uncertainty. The significant innovation of this framework is that it allows for the allocation of a probability mass to sets or intervals. An important aspect of this theory is the combination of evidence obtained from multiple sources and the modeling of conflict between them. Plash Dutta and Tazid Ali [6,7] proposed methods to combine Fuzzy Focal elements and their corresponding Basic Probability Assignments of two variables. Using evidence theory here we make an investigation for interval focal elements by combining focal elements and their corresponding Basic Probability Assignments (BPA) under Modified Arithmetic operations rather than ordinary arithmetic operations with the help of a numerical example.

Modeling radiation doses to critical organs of patients undergoing intracavitary brachytherapy treatment using the finite element method
Intracavitary brachytherapy is a procedure in which radioactive sources are placed in the body cavities close to or inside the target volume to deliver radiation at short distances. In this mode of treatment, high radiation dose can be delivered to the tumour volume with rapid dose fall-off into the surrounding normal tissues. In brachytherapy, the dosimetry in biological tissues is a complex process. Dosimetric parameters such as the dose to critical organs and the total dose to the reference points as in the case of Manchester system are critical for patients undergoing intracavitary brachytherapy treatment. In this study, the finite element method has been utilized to solve Boltzmann Transport Equation (BTE) to determine the distribution of angular photon fluxes at various positions in the cervix of cancer patients and the dose distribution calculated for the organs of interest. Results from the study indicate doses to the rectum and the bladder to be in the range of 21.5-90.10cGy and 25.60-110.02cGy respectively for stage I to stage IV cancer patients. Comparison of the results from this model with data from published articles and dose prescriptions from the treatment planning system of the Radiotherapy Centre of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Ghana for different cancer stages indicate good agreement.

Simultaneous opposite bilateral fracture dislocation of shoulders after an electrocution
Bilateral dislocation of the shoulders (anterior or posterior) is a known event after epileptic seizure or electrocution. However this pathology is rare when one side is anterior and the other is posterior. We describe a case of bilateral fracture dislocation of the shoulders after electrocution in a 45 year old woman. Asymmetrical presentation of lesion is exceptional, caused by opposing mechanisms. The diagnosis was made in emergency, and the patient underwent surgical treatment. We review these fracture dislocation types, and we also examine their mechanisms.
