A total of 60 composited ditch cutting samples from Koda-1 and Mar-1 wells from onshore and offshore areas of the western Niger Delta Basin were processed and analysed for the lithological, microfauna and microflora contents. Based on the microfaunal analysis, one informal planktonic foraminiferal namely Orbulina universa zone which corresponds to the N9 zone (Middle Miocene) and one informal benthonic biozone Amphistegina radiata zone with Bolivina striatula, Spiroloculina antilarum, Quinqueloculina stelligera and Bulimina elongata sub zones were established for Koda–1 well. An informal planktonic foraminiferal named Globorotalia margaritae zone which corresponds to N17-N19 (Late Miocene–Early Pliocene) was established for Mar-1 well while one informal benthonic biozone Cibicides refulgens zone with Lagena cantenulata, Quinqueloculina costata, Nonionina orbicularis and Planulina wuellerstorfi sub zones were established. The recovered benthonic foraminiferal assemblages and other microfauna accessories indicated that the sediments of the two wells were deposited in marginal to coastal marine (inner neritic, inner to middle neritic and middle neritic) environments. The paleotemperature of the sea was warm with normal salinity, based on the presence of tropical marine indicator species of Orbulina universa.

Learning how individuals open conversations or how people address one another in a certain language is an important issue in studying communication and hence establishing social relationships between individuals. The speaker and the addressee's relationship, cognitive, historical and ideological reality, determine the choice of names and other address variants. Forms of address has an interesting correlation with language and culture. It should be noted that culture is the most important factor involved in the use of address forms. The current study intends to investigate Iranian students' Persian and English electronic requests to faculty to find out if they were different intera- and inter- lingually in regard the use of forms of address. To that end, both quantitative and qualitative approaches were employed to investigate 120 English and Persian e-mails composed by the participants to faculty members. Findings from the study have revealed a wide stylistic range in the form of address used. The results of the study also revealed that students tried to be more polite in their Persian e-mails by exaggerating in the use of the honorifics. This study prove that the application of address forms is governed by social norms and cultural rules.

Research and development in electronics and its allied subjects have changed life styles of modern society. Though modern man has got many physical and mental comforts from exponential revolution in consumer electronics products, they did bring in some hazardous side effects on environment and human health. Disposal of E-waste has become a major problem across the world and is growing at alarming proportions. The accumulation of e-waste causing biggest harm to environment is the dumping of hazardous materials. The main aim of this theoretical concept research paper is to study, analyse, discuss existing E-waste recycling methodologies and conceptualise and formulate an ideal permanent technical solution for E-waste hazards faced by all nations across the world. Future projections of ever increasing E-waste for India, China, Europe, USA and the world for 2050 are included in this paper. In this paper a known novel recycling technical solution is re-invented through which 100% E-waste is processed to extract each and every material used in the fabrication process. An attempt is made to present and discuss an ideal technical solution which will give rise to discarding of E-waste into environment is either nil or minimal. At the same time it is expected to result in employment generation with marginal profits and surely acceptable to all players of consumer electronics industry. Implications of implementation of proposed ideal technical solution, commercial and societical are also included here.

The purpose of the study is to design a framework of syllabus to teach and develop study skills of students in the context of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) with a special focus on the language needs of target group- engineering Students belonging to Karunya University at Coimbatore, employing the linguistic and thematic components of a science fiction titled ‘Star fish’ by Peter Watts. Unlike the ordinary science texts generally prescribed by EAP theorists and ESP/EAP teachers, science fictions as course material would make the learning process interesting, and simultaneously would enhance the study skills much needed for the professional success of the Engineering students.

Freeman-Sheldon Syndrome (FSS), also known as Distal Arthrogryposis Type 2A (DA2A), Craniocarpotarsal Dystrophy, Windmill-Vane-Hand Syndrome, or Whistler Face Syndrome, was first described by Freeman and Sheldon in 1938 [1,2]. It is a very rare syndrome of multiple congenital contractures characterized by a microstomy giving the appearance of the "whistling face", a club foot and articular contractures. FSS is the most severe form of distal arthrogryposis. We report a rare observation of a two years old child, who has a poly malformative syndrome admitted in our ENT department at the Specialty Hospital, Rabat. On examination, the child presents a facial dysmorphism with head bird facies with prominent forehead, hyperthelorism and small mouth. Otherwise, H aspect of the chin and mandibular retrognation are noted. At the endoral examination, we notice a cleft palate, dental overlap and glossoptosis. Moreover, osteo-articular examination shows hypertonicity of the limbs, especially on the fingers, and a left club foot. The geneticist's opinion is in favor of a Freeman-Sheldon syndrome. The child has benefited from a surgical closure of the cleft palate. FSS is caused by genetic abnormalities involving the "distal arthrogryposis multiplex congenita" gene, whose inheritance may be either mostly autosomal dominant or autosomal recessive. The management by health professionals of several medical disciplines must be undertaken from birth to evaluate the severity of their phenotypic presentation and minimize the risk of patient development delay.

The study looks into the fund mobilization role of cooperative thrift and credit societies in Nigeria .The cooperative thrift and credit society of Ajayi Crowther University Oyo State of Nigeria was used as a case study. Primary data were coalated from the workers of the university serving as the respondents through the questionnaire instrument. The responses were analysed with the use of simple percentages. Two hypotheses were also tested to confirm the analysis. It was discovered that every member of staff consulted belong to one or two cooperative societies due majorly to the easier access of getting loan from the societies than from the banks. The loans given by the societies were also derivable from the savings contributions from members. It can therefore be concluded that cooperative thrift and credit societies in Nigeria are good in mobilizing funds from the surplus unit (the savers) to the deficit unit (the borrowers), the activity that has led to economic development of the co-operators and their societies at large. It is therefore good for government to give more recognition to the societies and should be extending grants and loans to them to boost their activities. This would help in filling the financial gap which has been existing within the whole range of financial intermediation process in the country.

Sixty four seed samples of Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) collected from different districts of Rajasthan revealed 35 fungal species of 18 genera in addition to Alternaria alternata, A. longissima, A. tenussima, Aspergillus candidus, A. flavus, A. fumigatus, A. niger, Bipolaris spicifera, Curvularia lunata, Drechslera graminea, D. tetramera, D. rostrata, Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium graminearum, Rhizopus nigricans, Trichothecium roseum which were dominant and affected seed germination, seedling vigour and seedling diseases.

Single crystals of methyl para hydroxyl benzoate a nonlinear optical (NLO) material were grown by slow solvent evaporation technique at room temperature. Acetone was used as solvent. The MPHB crystals obtained by the above technique were subjected to different characterization analysis. Unit cell parameters were evaluated by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The lattice dimensions were determined from the powder x-ray diffraction analysis. The functional groups and optical behaviour of the crystals were identified from FTIR and UV-vis analysis. Micro hardness, thermal and etching studies were also carried out on the sample respectively. The SHG efficiency of the grown crystal was measured through NLO studies.

International Baccalaureate World Schools are in constant development on how to enhance the teaching and learning. One of the strategies they employ is to get the students voice to examine if the pedagogical approaches of the teachers were appropriate in bringing the desired learning outcome from the intended students. The results of this study constituted an initial step towards the development and improvement of the teaching and learning processes in the Middle Years Programme of International Baccalaureate World Schools. Student’s comments were captured on how they were impacted by teaching and learning and in turn teachers reflection were also captured based on the comments received from students. Data collection also involved teacher interviews and testing of the procedure. Evidence revealed the importance of utilization of student voice in improving teaching and learning. Further, student voice promoted self-assessment of teachers’ practice and that student voice perceived to be a transformational experience for teachers, students and the whole school community. Thus, this study attempted to identify the effectiveness student voice in teaching and learning.

Besides studies on psychological characteristics are evidencing that sports are differed significantly in terms of level, gender, type of sports and living conditions. Within the presumption, the present study has been taken on examine the influence of performance failure appraisal on volleyball players. The Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory (PFAI) is a multidimensional measure of cognitive-motivational-relational appraisals associated with fear of failure (FF). To achieve this purpose, as subjects, male and female volleyball players were selected randomly from Tirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu. Besides, as the main purpose of findings the influence of performance failure appraisal on volleyball players performance. In such a way as samples, for this study sixty volleyball players were selected. From the subjects (male = 30 and female = 30). The age of the subjects ranged from 18-25 years. They were hailed from various socio-economic conditions. Selected subjects were completed the Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory (PFAI). It consists of 25questions that has been divided into six subscales. The collected data were statistically analyzed by using independent ‘t’ test.
