Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as Spatial Decision Support Systems (SDSS)
Recent advances in Operations Research (OR) and Information Technology (IT) have made it possible to integrate Operations Research techniques and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This integration can be used for the development of Spatial Decision Support Systems (SDSS).There is an increasing need for incorporation of routing techniques into a Decision Support System (DSS) for making effective business decision making in transportation. GIS can be used to analyze the routes. Route analysis helps us to generate the most efficient route (best route / shortest route) that the vehicle should take between the company and it supply chain link. Alternative routes can also be generated and analyzed. Alternative routes help in rerouting of the supplies in case of problems (either man –made or natural) on one route. Travel speed is used as a proxy, to traffic data to calculate the time taken to reach from origin to destination by the shortest/best route. In this paper a spatial decision support system is developed for route generation.

Comparative analysis of the effect of attendance on academic performance of management and finance course students
The fact that attendance has a positive effect on the performance of students has been studied by many researchers. This paper provides some evidence on the assumption that the subject of finance requires more teacher-student interaction than the subject of management. Thus attendance and academic performance has more strong relationship for finance than for management subjects. The 170 responses collected from students were analyzed through OLS technique. A stronger positive relationship of attendance and performance was found for Finance as compared to Management. The findings can be applied for other subjects, keeping in view the technicality and non-technicality of the subjects. The limitation in the research has been the variability in the personality of teachers and also the students, which can be very difficult to measure correctly and thus the finding can be different in different scenarios.

Descriptive statistics was used to analyze the data obtained. Most information was obtained from allotees, all the beneficiaries of compensation. Informal interviews were also held with government officials and the result shows that both land allocation and compensation exercises were improperly done, in that the authorities involved in the exercises, especially the land allocation exercise were mixed with non-specialists, contrary to the provision of the land use of Act of 1978, the traditional rulers were involved in the allocation of plots/farm lands. It is therefore recommended that future land allocation and compensation should always be put under intensive observation as membership of both exercises has been a matter of self enrichment.
