Toxicity of zinc and the efficacy of antidotes on Labeo rohita, using atomic absorption spectroscopy
Zinc is an essential heavy metal for human diet and it plays a significant role in metabolic process. The accumulation of zinc in different organs of Labeo rohita clearly shows that the accumulation directly proportional to the exposure period. In this work an attempt has been made to study the acute toxicity of heavy metal zinc and the effect of antidotes D-Penicillamine and Ethylene Diamine Tetra Acetic acid (EDTA) on the selected organs of the fresh water fingerlings of Labeo rohita using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. The concentration patterns in the organs of the fingerlings shows that liver is the major site to metal binding and muscle tissue accumulate least metal concentrations. It has also been observed using absorption spectroscopy that the administration of chelating agent D-Penicillamine reduces the zinc concentration in all tissues more effectively than the administration of the chelating agent EDTA.

Translation Shifts and Narratology: A Case Study of ‘Journey to Heading 270 Degrees’
Bringing the concepts of narratology and optional shifts together, the present research elaborated on Iran-Iraq War’s translated narration through a case study of a novel on this war. We analyzed the English translation of the Persian novel, Journey to Heading 270 Degrees, to examine how Iran-Iraq War narratives were translated and if and how the different narration of the translator affected the narratological aspect of the source narrative. To this end, Pekkanen (2010)’s model was applied to explore into the formal dissimilarities between the source text and the target text at the micro-textual level through a linguistic comparative analysis aimed at identifying optional shifts. Optional shifts were then categorized and the most frequent optional shifts, which made a pattern in the translated text, were identified. As the final step, the narratological aspect(s) were studied in the light of the optional shifts. Our analysis revealed that the optional shift of expansion-additions which were the most frequent shift type with 203 instances, contraction-deletions with 112 instances, and optional shifts of miscellaneous cases with 36 instances affected the degree of the specification as a narratological aspect in this study.

Uncommon Case of Patient with Gallbladder Herniation
Gallbladder herniation is a complication of patient with antecedent of abdominal surgery. We report an old patient with history of appendectomy several years ago, consulting for abdominal swelling. Patient performed a CT scan. Patient diagnosed as gallbladder hernia. Patient was treated surgically and discharged in good clinical condition. Gallbladder hernia is a very rare condition that can occur at any age and can be treated surgically.

White Layer – A significant effect on damping capacity
Damping is the material's ability to dissipate elastic strain energy during cyclic loading. Materials with high damping capacity are significant in the present day scenario for transportation and other industrial applications. The development of materials with high damping capacity is one of the efficient measures to reduce vibrations, thereby noise. Low weight materials like aluminum and magnesium have excellent mechanical properties, but poor in damping.

A comparative study of engineering colleges in India & abroad using six sigma metrics
The study has been done on the basis of questionnaire survey in the twenty-degree engineering colleges from West Bengal and foreign countries by random selection, ten colleges from each to measure the current or baseline performance level. The feedback for this questionnaire survey has been considered independently for service providers such as administrators, faculties, other supporting staff as well as students who receive these services and are direct customers. A total of 2168 persons have been surveyed from the 20 colleges. The baseline or current performance level of the colleges has been assessed based on the sigma level through quantification of the survey questionnaire consisting of eight enablers. Each enabler contains several questions or drivers. A seven-point scale has been designed for each driver ranging from “Unsatisfactory” to “Outstanding”.

A Review on Critical Casting Defect in Cast Iron: Sand Inclusion
Sand inclusion is an important defect in Cast Iron castings. On an average this defect is almost thirty to forty per cent of the total defects occurring in a foundry. Sand inclusion is undesirable since it results in reduction in the strength of the casting and bad finish of the casting surface. More than hundred parameters are responsible for sand inclusion and hence it is difficult to control defect during casting. A detailed Literature review of the previous work mostly on sand inclusion for almost last fifty years is done in this paper to find appropriate parameters for defect formation of sand inclusion. From the literature review it is found that the exact remedy for sand inclusion is not easy. The papers describing different techniques like Quality Function Deployment, cause and effect diagram, Design of Experiments etc. are also referred for finding the appropriate parameters responsible for sand inclusion. Corrective action should be taken on responsible parameters to eliminate the defect and improve quality of ferrous castings.

A study on the growth and characteristic properties of L-Arginine doped ZTS single crystal
In order to get good-quality crystals, method of slow evaporation was adopted to grow pure and L-Arginine doped Zinc (tris) Thiourea sulphate (ZTS) single crystals. The grown crystals are semiorganic non linear in nature whose lattice parameter values were found out using single x-ray diffraction analysis. The different functional bond frequencies associated with the crystals, decomposition temperature, and weight loss were found out from Fourier transform infra-red (FTIR) spectroscopic analysis, differential thermal analysis (DTA), and thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) respectively. The optical behavior, mechanical stability and etching nature were also analysed. The SHG efficiency of the grown crystals was measured through NLO studies.

Abundance of anamorphic fungi in the air of Dongargarh hill-top
Anamorphs are common and widespread. They are among the most successful groups of moulds with important roles in natural ecosystems and the human economy. The present paper deals with the study of aeromycological study of Dongargarh hill-top with the help of petriplate method in one year one year from May 2010- April 2011. 31 fungal floras were isolated during the investigation period. Only anamorphic fungal group contributes major 24 out of 31 fungal species. It was also observed that 341 colonies of anamorphic fungi isolated out of total 389 fungal colonies. The fungal species Cladosporium oxysporum, Fusarium Aspergillus, Penicillium,Curvularia,Cladosporium, Trichoderma etc were observed.

Aesthetics and Sagaciousness in the Giant Mask at the University of Benin – A Dissection
All over the world today, there is monumental degeneration and degradation of everything that hold human together for a better society. There is moral, economic, social and even political bankruptcy. There also exist natural disaster like the catastrophic earthquake – tsunami, great flash flood, hurricane and other natural disasters that have occurred and continue to occur claiming so many lives in recent times. In all these, catalysm, ruinations and great calamities, can humans be of assistance? Can we fix our seemingly titanic and mounting challenges? This paper seeks to analytically establish and affirm the cause of these problems and proffer a way out.
